LONGEVITY TIPS
- Never utilize a radiator cap with a pressure rating
greater or lesser than that recommended by the owner's manual. A cap
with a low pressure rating could make the engine overheat since the coolant will
boil and vaporize. A cap with a high pressure rating may permit enough pressure
buildup to burst cooling system components.
- If you suspect a pressure leak coming from the cap,
and a new cap does not stop the leak, inspect the radiator filler neck for
cracks. The radiator pressure cap may be good but the radiator filler
neck to which it is attached could be leaking.
